Good to know

Visiting or staying temporarily?

If you’re ill away from home or not registered with a GP, you can get emergency treatment from a local practice for up to 14 days. After that, register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be a temporary patient for up to three months while staying registered with your usual GP. Contact the practice you’d like to use — you can’t register temporarily where you’re already registered.

More about temporary registration

Your named GP

Every patient has a named GP with overall responsibility for their care. We assign patients by surname to share workload fairly, but you can always see any GP in the practice. Prefer a specific doctor? Let reception know and we’ll do our best.

Visitors from overseas

Visitors from overseas without access to NHS treatment may be seen at the doctor’s discretion, subject to a consultation fee and payment for medication or investigations. Ask reception for details of charges.
